Foie Gras Production Documentary

Friday, November 24th, 2006

A fifteen minute program documenting the cruel process of making Foie Gras. Young ducklings are hatched in their masses, any females are thrown into a chute and onto a conveyor belt to be killed by suffocation or gassing.

Males are then force fed food in such a horrific way. A short and very painful life, how can this be allowed.

It would be interesting to receive some comments on this to hear what you think. To do this, please click on the ‘comments’ link just below the video.

Please also take a moment to sign the manifesto to call a ban to foie gras production at www.stopavage.com. If you want to sign but are unable to find the petition, you can find it here.

Warning: Some people may find this footage upsetting.

Dog thrown in a river to die

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

A young female springer spaniel cross breed dog was thrown into a river to die after she suffered a prolapse. The dog was rescued by the Dogs Trust pet rescue organisation in Canterbury, and the ordeal the dog was subjected to was said to be “apalling” by Lizzie Reffell of the Dogs Trust.

This is a fine example of an act of cruelty that never should have happened. Charity organisations like the Dogs Trust or Pet Detectives will take in animals that are unwanted.

The spaniel cross, now named Honey, is said to be doing just fine and a new home is currently being sought.

Pet Detectives: Pet Rescue will always take in an animal that has been found abandoned or is simply unwanted.

Have a look at this video from You Tube of a narcoleptic dachshund named Rusty. Very short, but the dog is very cute:

Apologies - Our Absense

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

To let you know I have had some time off work as a mini holiday and have not been able to update the Pet Rescue site, particularly the lost cats or lost dogs section.

As a result I now have a very large backlog to go through, which I will start doing over the next few days. Just wanted to apologise to those who requested a listing in the lost and found pet log that hasn’t appeared.
