Teething Problems

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

Some may have noticed that the lost cats section went a bit mental this weekend. Apologies if you were trying to access the lost cats section of the site, but whilst we were attempting to transfer the new design onto this section and experienced a few problems.

Hours and lots of hard work later, it is back up and running under the new design, phew! As the site was down, we have been unable to make any updates to this section this weekend, but will aim to get up to speed over the next few days.

Next on the agenda, all those remaining brown pages to be transferred to the new design… eek!

A new year a new site

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

Well the new year is here (Happy New Year!) and so is the new site, well the start of it anyway. Over the next few days the old (slightly brown (yuck!)) site will be gone for good - yahoo!. During this time, especially within the blog, some links will lead you to incomplete and messy pages, so sorry about this, will have it sorted soon. Promise!

The new site will be much more user friendly, much more interesting (we hope) and much more prettier - hooray!

Please bear with us during this time and we aim to have some interesting new content for you in the next few days. If we are unable to find you any interesting content in this time, we will post some pointless and un-interesting content instead. Toodles :)

Boy Falls into Gorilla Enclosure

Monday, January 15th, 2007

This video is fantastic. A young boy falls into the gorilla enclosure at a zoo, knocking him unconscious. A large male gorilla goes over to the boy, and protectively watches over him and strokes him, protecting him from the other gorillas.

Gorillas have to be one of my all time favourite animals. They are so intelligent and have so much appeal, such a shame humans have forced them to the brink of extinction. Any Gorilla fans should check out the Going Ape series which is on Animal Planet at the moment, I think it’s Mondays or Tuesdays around 10pm.

Also, check out ITV: Extinct. A campaign attempting to save certain species from extinction, some dangerously close :(.

Lilly Allen’s Stolen Dog is Returned

Friday, January 5th, 2007

An interesting read on the MTV:UK website talks about the safe return of Lilly Allens’ English Bull Terrier - Maggie May after she was stolen recently.

Apparently a reward was necessary for the return, and other dogs were offered to her. She talks about how she felt bad as her reward may have funded a dog theft rackett, but feels it was needed to ensure the safety of her beloved pet.

This just goes to strengthen the argument of many (ours included) that dog theft is real and is very common. Word of warning, keep your pets safe!

Happy new year too :)

Site Re-Design

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

You may have noticed our new forum. We have set this up to try and create an online community for discussions on anything animal related.

We are in the process of converting the site from the design you see now, to the design you will see on the forum. I have set up a post on our forum for people to comment on the site re-design.

If you could visit the forum, sign up and post comments, it would be great!
