Warning - pets for sale in Free Ad’s
Pet Detectives: Pet Rescue want to warn people to beware of buying puppies from free ad papers, especially when the contact phone number is a mobile number.
Puppies are being farmed and sold in free ad papers en mass and are often of poor health. We desperately need people to be careful where they buy puppies from as this breeding should not be encouraged. The welfare of the animals is often not considered, and many suffer from parvo virus and can become ill resulting in high veterinary costs or even worse.
When looking to take a puppy into your home, you should contact a reputable breeder to find out the details of genuine breeders. That way you will have piece of mind that the puppy is fit and healthy, and dogs have not suffered by having to breed much more frequently than they should.
Our pet rescue organisation hears so often of farmed puppies that have been sold in free ad papers becoming ill. Beware of free ad papers selling puppies. These are often bred simply to make money and breeders are often not traceable after. We recommend you contact the Kennel Club when looking to take a puppy in as a member of the family.
