The Bengal Cat Features
Bengal Cats are domestic cats, which have been bred from the small Asian Leopard Cat (Felis Bengalensis), to develop a domestic cat that, whilst preserving the temperament of a domestic cat, has the beautifully striking features of the Asian Leopard Cat.
The Bengal Cat has been developed through a course of selective breeding of domestic cats, resulting in the Bengal Cat we see today.
They were first bred in the United States and are recognised as a pedigree breed by the International Cat Association (TICA).
Bengal cats are very much sought after on account of their stunning appearance that they have fetched as much as £23,000.
Bengal Cat Features
The Bengal Cat has long legs and a long back, with a very thick tail. They are domestic cats, with the features of the Asian Leopard.
They are generally not large cats, with males being larger than their female counterparts.
The Bengal Cat’s coat is usually marbled or spotted, usually containing two or more colours. The colouring of this beautiful cat is very striking, with shades of brown and orange.
The Bengal Cat is an incredibly loving and intelligent animal, and love nothing more than to cuddle up on their owner’s laps. As a result of this intelligent nature, they want to be an active member of the family and will often follow owners around as they go about their daily tasks.
Bengal Cat Temperament
The Bengal Cat is an incredibly loving and intelligent animal, and love nothing more than to cuddle up on their owners laps. As a result of this intelligent nature, they want to be an active member of the family and will often follow owners around as they go about their daily tasks.
Bengal Cat’s temperaments are shared with that of a domestic cat. Each will have their own individual personalities but these cats are very friendly, non-aggressive characters and are very affectionate.
They are curious creatures that are fascinated by water. Because of their intelligence they need stimulation, and if left alone long hours could be prone to cause havoc in the house.
Bengal Cat Breeders
We firmly believe in the importance of finding a good breeder with the right credentials and experience.
We see more and more, animals that are exploited to make money. Females are bred much too often in order to make money easily, and this is something that cannot and must not be encouraged.
We would recommend to anybody who is looking to give a home to a kitten or puppy of any kind of breed, to go via a reputable breeder.
In our eyes, the safest way to do this is to first get in contact with either
TICA (The International Cat Association) or the
Cat Fancy. Either of these organisations will be able
to put you onto a reputable breeder.
